Yukon trip

As many of you know, I took Hunter up north to visit my Mom in Haines Junction, Yukon.Haines Junction is a tiny little town that doesn't have a whole heck of a lot to do. If you like camping, canoeing, hiking, and things of that nature then you would love it. It has huge mountains and a ton of untouched wilderness.

I have often thought it would be neat to live in a quaint little town with tree lined streets, slow pace, and friendly neighbors. However, I have come to the realization that I am a bit of a city slicker. While the charm of a small town still appeals, the ammenities of a bigger city, say twenty minutes away, also appeals.

Usually when I visit my Mom we go for a lot of walks, but not this time. This time there were two bears wandering around the neighborhood. One of them even went to a lady's house and pushed on the front door to try and get in. I conveniently had a small baby who needed protection. So instead we watched a lot of movies, did some crafts, and visited with a friend.

While we were driving we did see two Elk herds, a Buffalo herd, and a pack of wolves. Cool

when in the north you must take pictures of your baby on furs
my Mom's dog mushing friends are gong to have twins in Decamber and I made two matching bibs with a dog sled team on them. She is bawling her face off
Grandma
Grumpa...he coined that phrase himself

Was great to have you and Hunter here Tricia, I always look forward to your visits and miss you like crazy when you're gone.
Yes, well, the bear that leaned on the "elder's" door was hunted down and shot. (too bad for the bear...inside the cabin she had been preparing salmon that had hung on her front porch...lots of smells...only natural a bear would investigate.) Tch!
